This morning's morning meeting was lead by Tallulah. We then took some time to read Good-bye Tonsils! by Craig and Juliana Hatkoff. This story talks about the steps taken when having your tonsils removed. Our friend Henry is having his removed tomorrow, so we discussed things we think are scary and things that can be exciting - like eating ice cream and mashed potatoes (not together, of course!) until we're healed. Henry handled it like a pro and we can't wait to see him again in a couple weeks!
Afterwards, we read The Night Before Thanksgiving by Natasha Wing and Tammie Lyon and discussed what foods we eat at our house for Thanksgiving. Come to find out, we ALL have turkey! We then did a journal page on how to cook a turkey. I must say, they're quite entertaining. These types of journals are my favorite ones because the children are so straight-faced and serious when telling me to cook it in the refrigerator for about 3 minutes and sprinkle it with cinnamon when it comes out.
Tomorrow is the big day! I've attached information/reminders about tomorrow to your children's folders. Please take a minute and read it. As always, if you have ANY questions (What type of food? How much? Where do I go? etc.) please don't hesitate to email me. I try to check my email at home in the evening.
See you all tomorrow and remember to come hungry! ;)
