Monday

This morning started slowly as our stuffy-nosed friends made their way into the classroom. Almost everyone in the class has a cold or sinus infection. If you've never had your child tested for seasonal allergies, now may be the perfect time to do so! I too can't seem to kick the sinus infection congesting me.
All of that aside, Essie lead us through morning meeting and right into literacy. We read The Night Before St. Patrick's Day by Natasha Wing and had a group discussion about what kinds of traps we'd make to capture a sneaky leprechaun. Ask your child what kind of trap they'd make and if it would be big or small. We talked about the size of leprechauns in the book (very small) and how large our traps would need to be.

We also had Music class this morning where the children talked about how certain types of music makes them feel (fast tempo music - excited, slow tempo - sleepy, etc.). We then had reading buddies with our buddies from Katie's class. The children read a Dr. Seuss story and journaled about their favorite part.

Don't forget our short Spring performance is tomorrow!  It lasts about 5 minutes. If you can't attend, please don't worry. The children will have other classes as their audience. Performances will be upstairs in the big white house in the Drama room promptly at 10:30am and again at 11:15am.
