Sneaky Leprechauns!

Today started off like any other, with Dawson leading us through morning meeting. Just like most Thursdays, Pattie came in and read to us. She first read Ten Apples Up On Top by Dr. Seuss. She then read a book Ruth Ann happened to come across while out shopping for school. She just had to get it. It's title is It's Time for School with Tallulah. It was written by Nancy Wolff.

After fruit break and recess, the children were off to music. When the children returned, they discovered that leprechauns had came to pay us a visit. With excitement, the children discovered as discovery ducks do. First, they noticed lucky charms on the sidewalk outside of our door. Then, they saw that they room was a mess! The chairs were all over the place and upside down. On the table, was a card and lots of ingredients. Inside the card was a note that read, "This recipe is for you, ask Katlyn what to do! You've had your sweet treat, so bake them tomorrow - it will be neat"! Those sneaky leprechauns left us the ingredients and instructions to make lucky shamrock cookies. They even knew that we had had a sweet treat from both Jenna and Sylvia already today and were smart enough to ask us to bake them tomorrow.
The magic of the morning lived long after the leprechaun visit. Katie's class made leprechaun traps in hopes of catching one today. They sat a couple of them up in our room, but had no luck. The children continued to check them all afternoon.
Tomorrow, the children will bake their lucky shamrock cookies in hopes that the leprechauns have brought us good luck for the next year.

Thank you to Jenna's family and Sylvia's family for sending in a special St. Patrick's Day treat. Some children decided to bring their treat home. Jenna brought in cookies and Sylvia brought in whoopie pies. Yum!

Have you checked out this week's QUICK NOTES yet? Here's your chance!
Make sure to send in your re-enrollment form by
Monday, April 4th.
