Oh, The Places We'd Go!

Yesterday, we had many silly hats come to school! The kids had a great time with them and loved listening to Pattie read The Cat in the Hat by Dr. Seuss. We later had music class and came back to our first parent reader. Tallulah's mom came in and read The Cat in the Hat Comes Back by Dr. Seuss.

Afterwards, the children made their own hat for a cat. We then put on hats that Dawson generously brought in to share with the class. Of course we had to pause to take a picture...

You know we then have to be silly...

Today was just as fun, wrapping up our kick-off celebration of Dr. Seuss. The children were all dressed up as what they'd like to be when they grow up. We had quite a mix! We had Tinkerbell, a Hokie cheerleader, a "vet doctor", a teacher, a doctor, a fireman, and Spiderman. Awesome! We had Spanish class this morning, but afterwards listened to Oh, the Places You'll Go! by Dr. Seuss. The children had buddies with Betsy's class soon thereafter and we brainstormed places we'd go with our buddies if traveling by hot air balloon (hot air balloons are used in the book). We discovered some would just take their buddy to their house, their granny's house, or to their paw-paw's house. Others, however, would like to travel to Mexico, Disneyworld, the beach, and to Colorado to ski! The children had quite the imagination for this project.

If you haven't had time to stop by the classroom, please do soon! All of our work from this week is posted on our windows.
