Wednesday

This morning, after Tallulah lead us through morning meeting, we began literacy centers. The children worked in different groups today building their hand strength. Some worked with play-doh, some worked writing their names or writing on white boards, and others worked on picking things up with some fun, over-sized tweezers. The children rotated through these centers ever ten minutes.
Later this morning, we had a visitor come into our class. I'm always so proud of this group and how sweet they are to visitors, but I'm not sure why! They're such a sweet and loving group. They showed Ethan where everything in the room was located and showed him the bathroom(it's a very big deal at this age!).
We also had music class this morning with Kim. Keeping in the spirit of Dr. Seuss, the children have been working on songs that have a lot of rhyming in them. Today they came back singing "Two, four, six, eight, meet me at the garden gate. If I'm late, don't wait"!
When we got back from music class, Lindsay's dad came in and read The Foot Book by Dr. Seuss. The children loved hearing about all different kinds of feet! They also discussed that we have two feet, but (most) cats and dogs have four. Tallulah told us about her late dog Wyatt and how he had three feet.

Thank you everyone who was able to make it to our performances yesterday! The children did AWESOME and Julie (the drama teacher) and I are so proud of them. They performed again after lunch for the stuffed animals in the room. It's so wonderful as a teacher to watch them so engaged in something they've worked so hard on. I'm in process of obtaining a copy of the performance that was recorded yesterday. As soon as I have it, I'll copy it on discs and distribute them to all parents.
